Nearly 55 years ago, Carl and Elsie Butler relocated from Wisconsin to Boulder City, recognizing the need for an air conditioning business. Carl was a Veteran who served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. They established Carl's Air Conditioning & Plumbing, and in 1967, moved the company to Henderson. Carl set up a shop with Elsie, who managed the ledgers at home and taught Sheree, their daughter, to use an old Victor calculator. Sheree quickly learned the ropes, started working in the shop, and grew to love the job. She worked for her father most of her life.
Ed Bless, born and raised in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, joined the Air Force in 1964 as an armament specialist. After a tour in Vietnam and a reassignment to Nellis Air Force Base, Ed began working for the company in 1973. Two years later, Ed got to know Carl, the owner. When his contact at the company left, Ed advanced and became the General Manager when Carl semi-retired in 1980.
By 1990, Carl retired, and Ed was in charge of field activities while Sheree handled office chores. Their professional association grew into a personal one, and Ed and Sheree were married in 1991. Initially, Carl's Air Conditioning focused on small commercial contracts, later shifting to housing tract work. Today, the company undertakes extensive custom home projects and operates a full-production sheet metal shop, one of the few in Southern Nevada. Now, Chris is spearheading the third generation, committed to upholding the company’s tradition of quality service, attention to detail, and integrity.

My air conditioner units have lasted a long time but are at the point they may need to be replaced soon.The air conditioner units were originally were put in by Carl's Air Conditioning in the late 90's. We had an appointment for 12-2 so when Carl’s said our technician was going to be late by almost 2 hours we were expecting the worst, but when our technician Robert Cheney arrived we couldn’t have asked for anything better. He was courteous and very respectful of our house and property. He took pictures of the work he did, and explained everything to us thoroughly. we did not feel rushed or unimportant at any time! He also told us about a plan that we could become preferred customers. You have a great employee! We would definitely request Robert to do any of our service calls in the future!
I have been using Carl's air for MANY years now- had technician Juston come out today and look over our unit. He was in the time frame and explained what was needed while making it easily understandable.
